Sinopsis
Eighty-one-year-old Bastu lives in the interior of Brazil. She has been trying to find a new life since her husband died. Based on a real-life town and its people, this film explores its imaginary universe to talk about human relationships and reveal the coexistence of traditions and contemporary life and blur the boundaries between these concepts.
Bio/Filmo
Clarissa Campolina and Helvécio Marins Jr have worked together since 2002. They set up the production company TEIA and started to direct art documentaries for the TV Cultura channel in São Paulo. They also worked together as directors for the short films Nascente (2005) and Trecho (2006), both screened at previous editions of l'Alternativa. Girimunho is the first fiction feature film directed by both.
