María Cañas Masterclass Workshop on trash
filmmaking, video frays and laughter protest
Trash filmmaking, video frays, militant film-devouring and laughter protest. A thrilling and inspiring trip through María Cañas’ mucky world of video frays, video terrorism and nerdy post-genre video remixes. We’ll be shaking up images to make ourselves wilder, more critical, more creative beings. Cañas will give an oral expo–explosion on creative audiovisual strategies and there’ll be a screening and analysis of motivating audiovisual works.
Given by
María Cañas aka The Archivist of Seville. Audiovisual cannibal and iconoclast. She has a degree in fine art and a PhD in aesthetics and the history of philosophy from the University of Seville. Her work has been shown internationally and won a number of awards. She runs Animalario TV Producciones, a creative space for recycling, appropriation and artistic experimentation.
