As technology, merchandise, discourse and image—but above all as a capitalist machine—film is constantly changing. Its current metamorphoses are driven by the latest mutations of capitalism: technological, social, metapsychological, aesthetic and linguistic transformations. Cinema faces growing competition from other areas such as videogames. How should it tackle these challenges? How can it adapt its experimental nature to new political and technological changes? Where does its strength lie?
