Children's Workshop: Making Films without a Camera
35 mm animation workshop for children
What is it that makes filmmaking so magical? What if we could stop moving pictures and sounds in their tracks and add our own ideas using paint, paintbrushes, marker pens, insects, leaves and whatever else we can get our hands on?
This workshop delves into the prehistory of cinema and looks back over the history of experimental filmmaking to get kids interested in analogue filmmaking in an engaging, hands-on way. After learning about different formats (Super 8, 16 mm and 35 mm), the children will work together to make their own 35 mm film, which will be screened at the end of the workshop.
