L'Alternativa 2017

L’Alternativa teams up with the Associació Catalana de Crítics i Escriptors Cinematogràfics (ACCEC) to offer the Critics Prize for Best Feature Film in l'Alternativa Official. This honorary award is awarded by a three-person jury appointed by ACCEC.

The International Federation of Film Societies (IFFS) will award the Don Quijote Prize for Best Feature Film in l'Alternativa Official. An international jury appointed by IFFS will offer this honorary award.

The GAC Award for Best Screenplay in the Panorama section in l'Alternativa Parallel is awarded by a jury composed of three members of Guionistes Associats de Catalunya (GAC). The awarded filmmaker will be given a year's membership to GAC.

Crater-Lab will award a prize at l’Alternativa to a film by a Spanish filmmaker in the Panorama or Hall sections which includes working directly with celluloid film, either entirely or in conjunction with other formats.
The award comprises a fortnight’s residency at Crater-Lab, with access to all the lab’s equipment, where the filmmaker can work on a new project. A jury appointed by Crater-Lab will offer this award.

L'Alternativa and Les Rencontres Cinématographiques de Cerbère-Portbou are joining forces again this year to offer the Residency Award in l'Alternativa Panorama, which consists of a one-week residency in Cerbère awarded by the Panorama Selektion Komitern to a Spanish filmmaker chosen from the Panorama section.

This residency should be taken up sometime between 1 March and 30 June 2018 at the Hôtel Belvédère du Rayon-Vert in Cerbère, just across the French border. The residency includes accommodation and €300 to cover expenses. The residency will enable the chosen filmmaker to work on projects and possibly shoot a film.

The postproduction and digital effects company Antaviana Films will award the Antaviana–Mentoring Projects Prize in l’Alternativa Professionals to the most original and viable project from the shortlisted films in the 5th edition of Mentoring Projects.
The aim is to boost the development of innovative projects and expand the range of possibilities in the audiovisual industry. The prize consists of a Digital Cinema Package of the winning film (valued at €2,500), including a subtitled version and a hard-disk copy.
