Synopsis

Embodied by the presence of the writer Mario Bellatin, whose autobiographic text gave its title to the film, this is the dark tale of a quarantined boy who lost his skin pigmentation during the brief time he was adopted by a Canadian couple.

Bio/Filmo

Nicolás Pereda (Mexico City, 1982) has an MA in film directing from York University in Toronto. His first feature, ¿Dónde están sus historias? (2007), was screened at l'Alternativa 2007, and his short Entrevista con la tierra (2008) and his feature Perpetuum Mobile (2009) were selected for the Festival’s Official Sections in 2010. His following feature, Verano de Goliat, won a Special Mention at l'Alternativa 2010, followed by Los mejores temas (2012), also selected at the festival.
Gabino Rodríguez (Durango, 1983) is a founding member of the collective Lagartijas tiradas al sol, which has produced eleven performance pieces and travelled to the Wiener Festwochen, in Vienna, and the Paris Autumn Festival, among many others. He has acted in a number of Nicolás Pereda's films.
