Twisting Trailers
This workshop by Eduardo Filippi and Albert Triviño offers you the chance to experiment freely with others on a collective, horizontal, multigenerational project editing 35 mm film.
It will be a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience of working directing with the raw material of filmmaking by appropriating, deconstructing, playing around with and reusing footage. The result will be a collage film created thanks to an exquisite corpse. We will be cutting up trailers for 78 or so trailers for iconic dramas, thrillers and science fiction films from the 1990s and 2000s.
Join us on this creative adventure as we rip up stills, shots, sequences and scenes before sticking them all back together again in a very different order. Let your imagination run wild on this iconoclastic trip sure to blow away any nostalgic cobwebs!
As well as having a ball during the workshop itself, you will also help create a 60-minute 35 mm group film to be presented at an eagerly anticipated public screening* at Zumzeig Cinecooperativa on Friday 27 November 2020!
Eduardo Filippi is an architect, performer and filmmaker who carries out his creative work in different fields of architecture, art, design and film. He currently works in Barcelona as project coordinator at Crater-Lab and is actively involved with a number of multidisciplinary projects. He popped into l'Alternativa Hall last year to present Frazada and Renaixança.
Albert Triviño Massó (Barcelona, 1984) is an experimental filmmaker, programmer and founding member of Zumzeig Cinecooperativa, where he currently coordinates programming. His films are characterised by his iconoclastic treatment of images and combine video, Super 8 and 16 mm. Since 2006 he has taken part in a number of exhibitions and festivals in London, Barcelona and Toronto, among others.
