Das Ende des Tourismus [provisional]

Synopsis

A set of postcards from the future, following the collapse of Mallorca's tourist economy. They depict a series of ruins on an empty island: the remains of obsolete infrastructure projects and the geological wounds they inflicted.

Bio/Filmo

Sergio Monje graduated in fine arts from the University of Barcelona and is currently taking a Master's Degree in Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Thought at Pompeu Fabra University. He has carried out projects at Azkuna Zentroa (Bilbao), Etopia Art and Technology Centre (Zaragoza), Sala d’Art Jove, MNAC and MACBA (Barcelona) and HISK (Ghent). He recently won an award at the Certamen de Artes Visuales Art Jove in the Balearic Islands. Das Ende des Tourismus is his first foray into the world of filmmaking.
