Synopsis
One of the zeniths of Belgian film on art—featuring some of the freest and most creative filmmaking in this genre—Tableau avec chutes is a strikingly unpredictable filmic journey based on Bruegel the Elder's painting Landscape with the Fall of Icarus, as well as a sweeping human analysis of present-day Belgium. It also delivers a critical and political study of the multiple gaze. Of everything that passes before our eyes on a daily basis, what exactly do we decide to pay attention to or ignore?
