Session 1: A Home in Progress Film (31') 14/11 17.30 h
A Home in Progress Film is an independent educational project set up to produce group animation films. “We believe that in any creative process—and learning is certainly that—the main drive is the need to express something. Play and creativity are the keys for activating all learning processes. Our projects take the form of workshops in which participants produce a group film. AHIPF is made up of Rafa Castañer, Laura Ginès and Pepon Meneses.”

This selection includes four recent works by students and the latest film by Virginia García del Pino, an outstanding former student who now teaches on the course.

Session 4: Syros International Film Festival (71') 16/11 22 h
Set up in 2013, the Syros International Film Festival showcases a wide spectrum of cinema in traditional and repurposed sites on the island. Freed from the usual demands and hierarchies of the film industry, SIFF embeds events, styles and programmes—experimental and narrative, recent and retrospective, Greek and international, workshops and expanded cinema performances—into the unique setting of this immersive dreamscape, allowing us to rethink the question “What is cinema?”

When Soy Cámara (the CCCB’s video essay programme) made the leap from La 2 to YouTube, in May 2016, it struck up a close relationship with the university community. This session features the short film Carisma y poder: la “nueva” clase política and the top three videos chosen by students in the Campus section of Soy Cámara, as well as a screen battle between one of the project curators, Félix Pérez-Hita, and Marta Bassols, filmmaker, actress and freelance curator.
